Desert concrete needs protection
Intense UV fades colored and stamped concrete. Hard water from sprinklers leaves white mineral rings. Pool chemicals etch decks. Wind-blown sand wears surfaces. Sealing slows all of this and makes cleaning far easier.
Sealer types
Penetrating
Silane and siloxane sealers soak in, repel water and leave the surface natural. Ideal for drives and walks.
Acrylic
Film-forming sealers enhance color on stamped patios. In strong sun, they need recoating more often.
Urethane
Tough clear coatings for garages and high-wear areas.
Pool decks
Pool decks get hot, wet and exposed to chlorine. We use sealers that maintain traction and help keep surfaces cooler. Cool deck coatings can be cleaned and resealed to restore their look.
Hard water stains
Mineral deposits from sprinklers are a constant issue. We clean them with specialty products and seal so future deposits wipe off more easily. Adjusting sprinkler heads helps too.
Our process
Clean, treat stains, fill cracks, then apply sealer evenly. We work in cooler parts of the day so the sealer does not flash dry.
Questions
How often should I reseal?
Penetrating sealers last years; acrylics every one to two years in full sun.
Will it be slippery?
We add grit to film sealers on walking areas.
Can you seal cool decking?
Yes, with compatible products.

Stamped patios
Stamped concrete patios are common in desert backyards. Over time the color fades and old sealer turns white or peels. We strip failing sealer, clean and apply a UV-resistant color-enhancing product.
Pavers
Paver patios and drives benefit from joint sand stabilization and sealing, which keeps sand from blowing away and reduces weeds and ants.
Golf cart paths and side yards
Cart paths, side yards and pool equipment pads all benefit from sealing, protecting against oil, chemicals and sun.
Best timing
Fall through spring offers ideal temperatures. Summer work happens at dawn. We avoid windy days that blow sand into wet sealer.
Efflorescence
White haze from salts rising through the slab is common near irrigated beds. We clean it and use breathable sealers that do not trap moisture.
Cool deck restoration
Many older pools here have a textured cool deck coating that was popular decades ago. Over time it gets stained, chipped and faded. We clean, patch and recoat or seal it, bringing back a bright surface that stays comfortable for bare feet. Choosing the right product matters, since some sealers make cool deck hotter. We use compatible, breathable coatings designed for the purpose.
Wind and sand
Strong spring winds carry sand that wears unsealed concrete over time, opening the surface and making it dusty. A penetrating densifier and sealer hardens the top layer and reduces wear. We avoid sealing on windy days since airborne sand would stick to wet sealer and leave a gritty finish.
Courtyards and entries
Front courtyards with fountains and potted plants are common in desert homes. Water from fountains and planters stains concrete. Sealing prevents dark rings and makes cleanup simple.
Mobile home pads and carports
Manufactured home communities have many small concrete areas: carports, porches, steps, walkways and shed pads. Each is exposed to sun and sprinkler water. Sealing them together gives a consistent appearance and slows cracking and staining. Because these areas are small, most projects are finished in a single morning before the heat arrives, and we can coordinate with park management on parking or access during the work.
Protecting decorative gravel borders
Where gravel meets concrete, small stones scratch the surface when walked on. A tough sealer resists those scratches and makes it easy to sweep stray rocks back into the bed. A clean edge between materials makes the yard look intentional and well maintained.
Sealing new pours
New patios, pool remodels and casita walkways should cure for roughly a month before sealing. In summer heat, fresh concrete loses water quickly and can craze. We advise on curing and come back at the right time to seal so the surface hardens evenly.
